Early Morning Start
We meet between 5:00-6:00 a.m. (actual time may very with time of year). Moses Lake hunts meet at the SP Gas Station in Moses Lake across from the Motel 6, Super 8 and Interstate motel, and about 100 yards north of I-90 at the Broadway exit (exit 176). If you are staying at the Best Western the Exxon is right in front of the motel. At the gas station you will be able to get coffee, donuts, pop, water, and snacks. We drive 15-30 minutes to our field and then transfer everything to the guides’ truck for the last drive to the hunt site. We then ask everyone to help set out between 30 and 150 decoys. We are usually ready to go at shooting time and hunt until either our limits have been met, or our shooting time has eclipsed.
Licensing Requirements
You may purchase your license online. Use this link to buy your license online. If you are coming from out of state I recommend using this method, so you can use the receipt to use to hunt immediately until your license arrives in the mail. Washington State law requires all individuals born after January 1, 1972 to show proof of basic hunter education training before purchasing a hunting license. You can take the class online. If you have a hunters education certificate you may use that to purchase your license in Washington. You need to have the certificate on hand if purchasing the license in Washington, or have the number when purchasing the license online.
You will need a signed federal duck stamp. Stamps can be purchased at your local post office, and designated sporting goods stores and retailers. Ask for a federal duck stamp.
Migratory Bird Hunters (primarily duck and goose hunters) at or over the age of 16 must possess a current signed Federal Duck Stamp, along with state licenses and permits, to hunt legally. An E-stamp is an electronic Federal Duck Stamp which is issued to a named individual.
